When you look around us, the social environment has changed not because of the internet; but broadcasting in general. I grew up with just one television and no computer for more than 25 years. I had to buy my own laptop. I had to struggle with my tutorials because I had to go to the library to print my work while my friends could easily print theirs from home. Now every room in our house has a television and 100 of channels to choose from. Are we to blame the internet for the change of the learning environment which children are exposed to now? I would not. If it is up to me, i will only have television but we decided to get a big house and not share space with our children. The www is everywhere, at the back of paperbacks you buy at your favourite bookstores. So how can the child be blindfolded from all of these blinking sight words?
